Since 2018, Bodor Laser has fostered a strong partnership with its Danish distributor, Svejsehuset A/S, leading to significant market expansion and remarkable achievements. The distributor's sales of Bodor laser products grew from 30% of their total business to 70% by the end of 2023, and the first half of 2024 saw even greater sales momentum.
Challenges in development(2018-2022)
In 2018, Bodor Laser and Svejsehuset A/S began their collaboration, with Bodor's advanced laser cutting products quickly gaining traction in Denmark. Initially, Bodor laser products accounted for 30% of the distributor's total business. As demand grew, the partnership thrived, driven by Bodor's superior technology and strong market performance.
However, in 2022, the global pandemic and heightened competition disrupted the market. Svejsehuset A/S faced significant challenges, with sales declining sharply. The distributor needed a strategy to counter these hurdles and regain momentum. The sales director of Svejsehuset A/S believes that they have reached a difficult moment.
Strategic Breakthrough: VTM Exhibition Success and Team Expansion (2023)
To address these challenges, Bodor Laser and Svejsehuset A/S launched a strategic initiative. In April 2023, Bodor Laser attended at a very successful exhibition at the VTM SUMMIT 2023 in Denmark. The event attracted significant attention from new customers, and several machines were sold on-site, restoring market confidence. The exhibition not only revitalized sales but also strengthened Bodor's brand presence in Denmark.
Building on this success, Svejsehuset A/S expanded its team to meet rising demand. In October 2023, a new sales representative, Erik, joined the team, bringing fresh market opportunities. By December, an additional engineer was hired to enhance installation and after-sales support. These strategic hires provided the distributor with the resources needed for sustained growth.
Sustained Growth and Market Leadership (2024)
By the end of 2023, Svejsehuset A/S's laser sales reached its annual target, marking a major milestone in the partnership. This impressive achievement accelerated Bodor's growth within the distributor's portfolio, with Bodor laser products now comprising 70% of its total business. Thomas, Svejsehuset A/S’s sales director, was advanced to the position of a partner for his outstanding leadership.
In April 2024, Svejsehuset A/S sent engineers to Bodor's Jinan headquarters for advanced training. This program equipped the team with the expertise to solve complex technical issues and ensure optimal machine performance for customers, further enhancing Bodor's reputation for reliability.
By June 2024, Svejsehuset A/S achieved another record, with sales in the first half of the year alone approaching last year's full-year sales total,—a 50% year-over-year increase. The rising demand for high-power laser cutting machines further demonstrated Bodor's growing influence in the Danish market.
